Aspenglen Campground is located just inside the Fall River Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park at 8,200′ (2,500m). It is a small campground along the Fall River, which provides lovely background noise.
There are 53 RV (30′ limit) and tent sites available. Most sites are adequately shaded. Both the A & C loops have sites along the river. The A loop is tents only, and even has some sites that require walking in a few hundred feet from the road, for added privacy.
Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, with access to potable water and flush toilets. Because this campground has relatively few sites, it has a quiet, intimate feel.
The campground has a small amphitheater beside the river, with ranger programs during the summer.
Firewood and ice are available for purchase. For other purchases, it is an easy walk from here to the Fall River Visitor Center and the Gateway Store, and Estes Park is only 15 minutes away by car.
Pets are allowed in campgrounds, but not on trails in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Aspenglen is a good choice for: people who want to stay in the National Park, people who like the sound of a river near by, people who like the feel of a small campground.
Note: there is no cell phone reception here, but there is an emergency phone at the ranger station.
