Estes Park KOA is located on the east side of Estes Park, within an easy walk to Lake Estes, indoor rock climbing, horseback riding, and mini golf.
The campground sits near the mouth of the Big Thompson Canyon on Highway 34, at 7,523′ (2,293m) elevation. The free shuttle stops here.
The campground has a variety of lodging options, including RV sites with hookups, tent sites, and small cabins.
Amenities include cable TV, wi-fi, 50 amp hookups, laundry, showers, and a store with ATM, snack bar, propane, firewood, and other camping needs. There is an RV dump station on site.
This KOA has a ton of activities to keep everyone occupied, including nightly ice cream socials, horseshoes, karaoke, bingo, pancake breakfasts, basketball, kids crafts, marshmallow roasts, and tetherball.
The KOA is pet friendly, and even has a “Kamp K9” area for its doggy visitors.
One of the major advantages to the KOA is its convenient location. Across the street from the campground is the Estes Park Mountain Shop, which offers a climbing wall and fantastic deals on outdoor gear in their “bargain basement.” Next door is Sombrero Ranch, which offers horseback rides, and just a short walk away is the Estes Park Ride-a-Kart, with mini golf, video games, bumper cars, and more. Lake Estes is just across the road, and provides a lovely mixed-use trail, along with bike and boat rentals and plenty of spots for fishing.
This campground is open only during the summer, and reservations are recommended.
