Estes Ark is hard to miss if you’re driving into Estes Park on Highway 34, mostly because the building is shaped like a giant ark. As in, Noah’s Ark. Frankly, we think it’s worth a visit just for that little oddity alone.
When the ark was first built in 1994, many locals raised an eyebrow at the unique design. Given all the flooding we had here in 2013, maybe having an ark isn’t such a bad idea after all!
The Estes Ark’s other claim to fame, besides its unique shape, is its extensive stuffed animal selection, including Steiff, Boyd’s Bears, GUND, and more. They also have a large Schleich figurine selection, an array of Smokey Bear merchandise, Noah’s Ark themed items, and hard-to-find local wildlife in stuffed animal form. While they carry books and games and a few other toys, this is the place to go for stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes.
Downstairs, they have a slot car racetrack, the Rainbow Curve Raceway.
Estes Ark is a great choice for stuffed animal fanatics.
